Bleaching process of crude oil refinery
Date:2015-10-08Crude oil refinery, bleaching process of crude oil refinery. We will introduce it in this text. Oil bleaching in many ways, the most widely used in industrial production is the adsorption bleaching. Absorbent bleaching of oil is the method that uses certain substances with a strong selective effect on pigments (adsorbent) to remove pigment and other impurities of oil.
Absorbent principle
1, Adsorbent surface absorption for bleaching: Absorption is mainly caused by the free energy of ultrafine concave surface of the adsorbent surface. After full access of oil and sorbent pigment is adsorbed, and eventually reached equilibrium. When bleaching temperature is high, fast absorption, time for reaching adsorption equilibrium is short. Adsorption is an exothermic process, so if the temperature is too high, the adsorption capacity will be decreased.
2, Pressure filtration for bleaching: When pigment and adsorbent in oil reached equilibrium, separate the suspension with a filter press. When oil goes through the adsorbent layer of filter press, the effective concentration of the adsorbent in terms of oil is very high, and this concentration effect causes a new balance between the bleaching agent and pigment. Namely in pressure filtration process, oil can be taken further bleaching.
3, Chemical reaction: In the bleaching process, the surface of bleaching earth is not only on adsorption, but also a chemical reaction. In the vacuum, the lipid oxidation product is decomposed dehydration. Also known as the false neutralization function, and make the peroxide value of oils and fats decreased.
There are two main sorbent for oil industry bleaching currently:
1, Activated clay: Activated clay is processed high activity adsorption taking bentonite as raw material, it is most widely used in bleaching of oil industry. Activated clay for pigment, especially chlorophyll and glue other impurities has strong adsorption capacity. For alkaline original group and polarity original group has stronger adsorption. After the oil is bleached by activated clay, it will take a little activity clay smell. It must be deodorized before eating.
2, Activated carbon: Activated carbon is made of branches, charring husk etc. by carbon process and activity process. Having a fine porous structure, bleaching factor is high, it has non-reward effective to remove red color of oil. The oil is without odor after bleaching. Low smoke point substance can be absorbed, but after using the activated carbon, the filter speed will be slow, price is expensive, oil absorption rate is also high. Generally it is not used alone, often used in conjunction with activated clay, with a ratio is generally 1:10-20.
